CNN, US, UN, thank you - Oh My Buhay

CNN, US, UN, thank you

I’ve been relying on CNN for the nightly update on Tacloban. Some of their reporters went to Tacloban ahead of Typhoon Haiyan to cover the story. What greeted them afterwards were something beyond their imaginations. Catastrophy they’ve never seen and experienced before. Devastation of epic proportion. And it all happened here, in the Philippines. We’re on the map again, but for a very sad reason.
I feel grateful to these CNN correspondents for bringing us their story. Our country’s story.

Paula Hancocks, Andrew Stevens and his companions who even saved a family who was trapped when flood waters rose, Kristie Lu Stout, Ivan Watson, Anna Coren, Nick Paton Walsh and Anderson Cooper.

James Reynolds report.

We should all thank them for walking on the streets where the sufferings were happening. They were also instrumental in putting some pressures on our officials to act and move faster in bringing the necessary help.

We also owe the Americans for being one of the firsts to send massive aid including doctors, nurses, and medicines. Thank you too to Valerie Amos and her team from the UN for distributing high energy biscuits. Thank you to the European countries, to Japan, etc.

Ngunit, huwag tayong mabulag sa halagang P4.3M pesos. Pampalubag loob o pakitang-mundo? Ang laki ng kapalit—– ang ating dagat at dignidad natin. We should not feel grateful to a country who bullies and disrespects us, have established military stations in several of our islands, and itching to occupy not only our shores but our lands too.
