Colorful Class Reunion

Our high school batch held a VERY COLORFUL class reunion last Sunday. Where else but in our town.

When I reached the #venue, the first thing that I noticed was how big the tables were. Para kaming mag-cha-Chinese lauriat. Good for 12 px. Nothing that I could do, those were the only size available.

Next- I made pakialam the stage. I moved it to the center. I remember telling my batchmates that the venue is narrow so the stage must be in the center.

Eden was the one who took charge of the venue decor.

Luming is our batch treasurer. So many balikbayans sent money that’s why we were able to cover all our expenses. Meron pang natira.

Next, I checked the buffet table.
Oh I like this juice fountain. I didn’t taste the juice though.

Very colorful and pretty fruit corner. Nice no?

We paid the caterer P5,000 extra for the table set-up.
Disclaimer: I didn’t choose those colors.

Next – I had two tables removed to give more space for the dance presentations of each section.

Next – I looked for the emcees that Malou hired. They were told that the program would start at 5 pm. Wala pa sila.
They arrived at 5:15 pm.
A———– “Are you the emcees?”
Mar & Aiza– “Yes madam”.
A———– “You’re late. Di ba emcees arrive at least 30 minutes before the program? Bakit ganyan ang hitsura nyo? Emcee kayo and you look like that?”
Aiza——– “Madam, naka bihis na ako”.

The emcees are also from Binangonan. Mar is a professional singer. Aiza? I don’t know what her core competencies are aside from hosting. Baka ballet dancing.

Mar reads the program that I prepared, while Aiza puts on make-up.

I looked at her/him. She was wearing a glittery blouse. I noticed her feet.

A———– “Mag-e-emcee ka naka tsinelas ka?”
Aiza——– “Madam, hindi ito tsinelas, sandals ito”.

Next- I noticed how colorful the decorations where. The chairs, tables, the drapings. Dyos ko, sobrang makulay ang aming buhay.

I looked around and noticed how colorful talaga. What can I say? They are… colorful!
For a while I wanted to puke. Disclaimer: Yes I am the batch president, but I didn’t choose these colors. I delegated this.
I tried to see the brightness and beauty of our surroudings. Kunwari na lang I am attending my daughter’s 7th birthday party with Rainbowbrite.

Ay, why did our souvenir t-shirts become yellow a-la Metro aide?
I thought I said white? The other officers found white too ordinary. Colors are art. Art is subjective. What is nice to me may be ugly to them. This yellow t-shirt is a prime example.

It’s hideous. Para kaming magwa-walis sa kalye.

6 pm— People have started trickling in. Alam kaya nila na alas singko ang party namin?

Makapunta nga muna sa toilet. And the first thing that greeted me was a medium sized-spider on the floor, right there near the door. Swerte ko talaga. Oh my ang bantot naman ng banyo. I wanted to faint here. And I would smell bantut also. I sprayed Chanel!
