CO/OP Manila Gift shop and Cafe

We had a 3 + 1 (Me, Nyke, Yen + her friend Derrick) last Friday. Traffic was so bad that instead of a 15 minute ride from our house for the 7 pm dinner, it took us more than an hour to reach this 3 week old restaurant in A. Mabini Street, San Juan. Sobrang waste of time. I had my curlers on, kaya by the time I reached CO/OP Manila, my hair was already kinky.

The industrial style building looks newly built, although there used to be an old house here before. maybe they tore down the old structure.

My daughter told me they have simple meals and prices are on the high side.

CO/OP’s board menu, pay as you order.

The other half of their restaurant is devoted to merchandise. We entertained ourselves looking at the cool and hip gift items while waiting for our order and my son who was coming from Makati.

The prices are not cheap.

Here comes our food:
Harvest Salad was okay, refreshing because of the pears.   It’s good actually.
068

Panini.  Three of us split this.  Parang tikim-tikim lang.
069

All of us shared in this prosciutto pasta. Not because we’re matipid, but because we couldn’t finish it. Parang the creamy sauce made it so heavy.  This needs improvement.

Tuna salad. My daughter had tried this before, she cautioned me to lower my expectations because CO/OP uses canned tuna.  Okay rin naman.  Naubos agad.
071

I was too full to try this sandwich that looked like a french toast.   My companions said it’s weird.

While we were eating, we heard someone calling “ohmybuhay! ohmybuhay! ohmybuhay!” My daughter said “Mom, that’s you”.

The pretty girl stood up and approached me. We had a nice picture together but it got erased from my phone.

Ohmybuhay reader Rackie Pacis Chan and her friend Myla Okinari
Rackie lives in San Juan and she told me she’s the cousin of Matet Maycacayan.
She must be a daughter of Binangonan ex-mayor Sid Pacis. Well, I am not sure, hula ko lang. She and her husband own Zippy Source creative gifts, while Myla Okinari owns Mobs Branded Fashion Shoppe.

By 9 pm, we’re all in a hurry to leave. My kids + 1 are watching a movie in Shang, while I am rushing home to watch how Albert Martinez would confront Bea Alonzo: how she was able to steal his wife’s face and pagkatao.

I’d like to go back to CO/OP to try their other dishes. I like the maaliwalas ambiance. They do have parking but since they have many customers, I will instruct my driver next time not to park at the very front kasi we had to wait for several minutes while the guard looked for the owners of the two vehicles parked behind us. Nung lumabas nga yung isang owner, nakasimangot, syempre naabala ang pag-kain nya.
