Citibank Credit Card fees - Oh My Buhay

Citibank Credit Card fees

I was on the phone for almost an hour. I was trying to trace what happened to my Citibank credit card which I haven’t seen for almost a year now. My staff Vibered me the info: I last used it in March 2018 and the last payment was made on April 18, 2018. I actually had forgotten that I even have a Citibank card. I called their hotline and according to the recording, I owed them 12,000 for the annual fee. Oh my.
12,000 for a card annual dues I haven’t used for a year. They directed me to the Citi Prestige card and they easily found my account. I asked for cancellation but then they told me I would lose my rewards points. I asked if the points would be enough to pay for the 12,000 fees. Kaya daw. They deducted 120,000 points for the 12,000 fee. Ang mahal pala. I told the customer service sige na nga gagamitin ko na uli, send me a replacement one. Okay, that would cost me 400 pesos.

Buti na lang I asked if there’s a foreign transaction charge if I use the card when I am abroad. Meron pala. 3.525 percent dagdag if I use the Citibank card abroad. I’m glad I asked. I will never use it when I am traveling. I don’t want to be slapped with a 3.525 % fee plus their foreign exchange margin pa. Double-double.
