Our tour ended a lot earlier today unlike last night. A very welcome respite from all that travelling.
The bus brought us directly to our hotel in Izmir from the lunch. It was still a good two hours drive.
The Crowne Plaza Izmir’s location is really nice. It’s on a seaside facing the Izmir Bay.
There’s a row of al fresco restaurants facing the sea.
The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Izmir stands behind a mall and faces a park and the sea.
The hotel looks and smells new. The bathroom doesn’t have a see-through glass wall.
Dinner buffet would be at the hotel from 7 pm to 9:30 pm. We took advantage of the free time to explore the shopping mall behind the hotel.
The building is right behind the hotel but there’s no passage. We went around the street, but no big deal. Ang sarap ng hangin and it was only a two-minute walk.
I went straight to the toilet paper section.
They don’t have a small packaging. Puro pang-family size.
I spent 10 minutes contemplating on whether to buy this or not. Ang dami naman. Walang pack of 4 or 6 or even 8. Sayang, I really like this fancy toilet paper.
Turkey patronizes their own. I didn’t see any made in China product.
Except for a made in Italy bottle, practically all the merchandises are from Turkey.
Ganda nito. mahirap mag-uwi, mabigat.
I bought a box, good for 6 px. My son suggested I ake two boxes para good for 12 px. Mabigat na ang maleta.
The finger chilis on the left side are huge, about 8 to 10 inches long and 2 inches fat.
Tabachoy talong. You could slice this into thin strips, fry in olive oil for a few seconds, use to line your pan. Put cooked pasta with red sauce into a round pan, bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove the pan from the oven, let cool for 15 minutes.
Invert the pan into a serving tray. The pasta would look like a round cake.
Slice the way you slice a cake.
I like this grocery. It’s so relaxing to shop here.
Baklava sold by the kilo. I didn’t buy kasi ang tamis, super. Our companion Mrs. Tess Garcia bought one kilo.
I paid 29 Lira.
Edmund went looking for reading glasses. My kids and I went ahead.
The climate was so pleasant, ang sarap mamasyal.
We saw this tahong vendor near the hotel.
My son wanted to try it pero ayaw ko kasi I was afraid he could pururot. Mahirap na, we’re away from home.
