Dangerous NAIA Airport

Instead of a less than two hours flight from Hongkong to Manila, it became a three hour flight. We took off at 6:25 pm. Instead of arriving at 8:20, we landed at 9:15 pm at NAIA Terminal 2. That was an extra 55 minutes hovering above and circling around Luzon due to airport traffic congestion. It was really scary and dangerous. It was rough and turbulent. The risk goes up when there’s air traffic. Ano ba yan, traffic na sa baba, traffic pa sa himpapawid. My son and I felt so dizzy. There was one big drop, napasigaw ako ng ouch. Nahilo mga bulate ko.

Someone on a private plane also arrived on the same night. For 45 minutes, his jet was also made to circle above. They were already running out of fuel and had to “may day” before they were given permission to land. That’s dangerous.

When I flew in from Kuala Lumpur, pabalik-balik yung plane. It added one more hour to my flight. Kunsumisyon.

Heard that NAIA currently has ONLY SEVEN (7) traffic controllers because they left to work abroad. That’s even more dangerous.

The government knew for a fact that a new and bigger airport is badly needed but the Department of Transportation and Communication did not prioritize this.

President Pnoy’s term is ending, nasayang na ang mahabang panahon. Walang aksyon ang DOTC.

I hope whoever becomes president next has the foresight, decisiveness, will power to swing his people into action so that a more modern, bigger, safer international airport, terminal and runways are constructed SOONEST, with no red tapes and lagayan.

We badly, urgently need more runways to accommodate the increase in the number of take-offs and landing.
