I’ve met a couple of Filipinos in the past few days and I always ended up listening to their love life stories and problems.

A while ago, I had to excuse myself because I was already freezing in the cold while Raymond continued with his stories about all the women in his life.

All, kasi madami na. Yung girlfriend nya that he was ready to marry eh had other plans pala. While he was planning to propose to her, she eloped with someone else. Arayyy sakit. It took him a year to resuscitate his dying heart. Three months after he found out she married that guy, he had a new girlfriend but she was not serious about him. She enjoyed the perks of her newfound affluence. She became demanding (materially) and wanted to live the life of a party girl—to go to clubs and hang-out with her friends. One day, she just disappeared when he refused to give her more money.

Uber driver—

and not only Filipinos, this morning I took Uber and the driver was a gorgeous-looking Latina. Just one block into our trip and she said “I am going to be honest with you, I lost my job”.
Ako naman syempre I am always sympathetic. Aba who wants to lose your job? I asked why? And where? She was working at the Venetian Hotel’s refreshment department and the hotel let go of a few employees including her. She lost her job, she has thyroid problems, she has no boyfriend, and who wouldn’t be depressed? She was yawning the whole time and I was worried she’d sleep on the wheel.

I was running late to my appointment so all I could say was “I think you should just go home and rest”.
Sometimes I feel like Tiya Dely. Yung mga bata hindi kilala si Tiya Dely.
Maybe I should have a radio program / station where people can phone in and tell me their problems. Or I will have an office where people with problems can walk in to share with me their worries. That would be good therapy for me right? I would be very busy listening to other people’s problems I have no more time to “listen” to my own problems. Baka isang linggo pa lang praning na ako.

we're all nuts

Oyen found this sound machine in Target. She saw me playing with it so mine na lang daw. This is my new constant companion. My handbag became even heavier due to lots of abubots, dagdag pa ito. Even when I am in a public place, I press the scream button. This is my release! Wahhhhh!
