Difference between Men and Women - Oh My Buhay

Difference between Men and Women

I’ve been surrounded by men all my life.  I grew up with four much older brothers, plus my father- that made it 5.   My parents put up micro businesses in our residence, and it  exposed me to the dangers of being surrounded by men-  drivers,  houseboys, helpers, etc.

I have travelled countless times with businessmen, during state and working visits of Philippine presidents.  During the time of President Fidel V. Ramos,  Most of the time I was the only female in the business delegation.    It didn’t bother me at all because like what I’ve said,  I was comfortable being surrounded with men.  I made no distinction, naku babae ako, sila lalake.

I have attended so many conventions, investment meetings, business presentations,  board metings, etc. and these are arenas dominated by men.

For a long time,  I only chose to be active in Philippines, Inc.  because it’s too time consuming also to get involved in so many organizations.

Philippines, Inc. is a men’s world.  I’ve known most of my colleagues for 20 years and I have become one of the boys.

I added the Women’s Business Council to my plate.   I am also the Vice President and supposedly the incoming president of the Phillippine Council of Management,  but which I couldn’t focus on because I am loaded with a lot of other matters to attend to.

WBCP is  an organization that’s ruled by the more powerful half- — women.   Ibang-iba naman kami dito.

My participation in the recently concluded Global Summit of Women was an eye opener for me.

I could blend well din pala with women, and have fun too.

I thought I was more comfortable with men.  I was wrong.  It’s so much easier pala  to be with women.  For one, they don’t scan my legs.  They don’t search for my boobs.  They don’t make a pass on me.

Women are more fun, too,  than men.    Men could be so stoic.  Women don’t have any qualms in expressing own feelings, wants, inclinations.

When the music started,  the women stood up, screamed, and danced.

When the music started,  men sat down,  drank, and fell asleep.

See the difference?
