Our bus left Shangrila Hotel Kuala Lumpur at 8:01 pm and reached the official residence of Malaysian Prime Minister Hon. Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak (typing his name made me tired. Ano kaya nickname nya? Haji? Zak?
Women were walking in opposite directions. From where the bus off-loaded us, we had to walk downhill, siguro mga one kilometer distance Naku, ayaw ko maglakad. There were golf carts but each could only bring 6 or 7 passengers. Sumingit talaga ako.
The VIPs were in limos. For ordinary people like me, limos din, with a different accent.
We all walked on the red carpet and were welcomed with a Malaysia truly Asia smiles.
I thought we’re going to have dinner at the PM’s palace. Hindi daw kami lahat kasya.
There’s a very elegant round table and golden chairs for the most important people, and for the generous hosts, the PM and his beautiful wife Her Excellency Datin Sri HJH. Rosmah Mansor
Most of the tables in front and middle portion were already occupied by those who were able to ride the bus ahead of me. I went to the back area which was a blessing because it was quieter and closer to the buffet tables.
I was already happy with the sambal, nasi lemak and chicken curry but I still stood up and went to the buffet to check the food out.
The amount of food, quality, and variety was very impressive. I just didn’t have enough space to taste every dish they had prepared for us. Our host was very generous.
Perfect dessert and comfort food.
I was joined at the table by very warm and friendly Malaysians.
Yvonne Chua,
Bien, and Esther.
We all left with a bag of Malaysian brochures on shopping and tourist map, and a notebook.
We left at 10 pm while the entertainment program was still on-going. My new Malaysian friends told me we better leave. It was raining when we went out and had to walk on very slippery cobbled stone uphill. I was clinging to Yvonne for fear of slipping and falling. Nakakatakot, napaka dulasin ko pa mandin.
I saw an empty golf cart, pinara ko talaga and ang bilis kong sumakay. I didn’t want to risk walking and falling, and under the rain. The next hurdle- the bus ride again. We missed the first bus kasi nagkakagulo nga. When the second one came, nakisiksik na talaga ako. I was getting wet na from the rain and I was really exhausted. While on the bus, Yvonne was talking and talking while I was yawning and yawning.
It was a tiring day, but fun.
