Big Ben and Chinatown London - Oh My Buhay

Big Ben and Chinatown London

October 26, 2013 London

It’s been a week that we haven’t had rice. So for our dinner tonight, we’ve decided to go to Chinatown in London.

Our hotel this time was a bit farther away but we walked.
The weather was beautiful, cold, but not biting. We had a wonderful time walking hand in hand. And the best part? Edmund picked up a 20 pounds sterling bill from the sidewalk.
Maswerte yan sa ganyan. When we were in Las Vegas, he picked-up $300. Ako naman, laging coins. Coins are blessings too.

We passed by Westminster Abbey.

Just around the block, after Westminster Abbey was Big Ben. Our photos didn’t come out clear because of the glare from motor vehicles. It would have been better if it were daytime.

Edmund noticed a dozen people waiting at a large gate with several guards. I told him it’s probably the residence of the Prime Minister because it’s on Downing Street. To be sure, I stopped and asked one of the officers what building was that. He said it’s the official residence of David Cameron, the Prime Minister.

We walked past Trafalgar Square. Booths and tents were being set up.

Edmund liked the location of our hotel last week better, The Grand at Trafalgar Square better known as. or Club Quarters). It’s closer to restaurants, shops, and tourist spots.

After Trafalgar Square, Chinatown was not too far away.
There were warning signs all over.

There were thousands of people, some were drunk, singing and chanting in the middle of the road.

Most restaurants had few minutes waiting.
We settled for the 3rd restaurant we saw. We waited for a table for 15 minutes.

I asked for a glass of water. No free. He said a glass was 2.20. A whole bottle was 4. Sobrang mahal.
096

Fish ball soup, good for two px.
097

Three kinds of vegetables.
098

Roast Duck

Edmund also ordered Crispy Pork Ribs (Lechong Macao sa Pinas).

We didn’t like their dessert. Kaya we bought ice cream from an Italian resto somewhere in Leicester Square.

Perfect company on a cold night.

We walked back to the corner where M&M was to take a cab.
I told the driver “Intercontinental Hotel”, yun pala there’s another Park Lane, Intercontinental din, kaya napalayo kami. Nadoble and bayad namin. Para kaming nag city tour ng London.

Nakita ko tuloy mga basura nila, siguro for collection the next morning.

Buckingham at night. Good night Queen. That’s me.
