I brought Oyen along to Women X Crypto, the women’s business dinner event at Manila House in BGC. I regretted bringing her there because of the amount of time she had to sit down while waiting for dinner to be served. She got very tired and her tummy hurt. I got so worried she would go into premature labor.
The invitation stated 6 pm so I thought the program would really start on time. We were in a hurry, not wanting to be late even for 5 minutes. We were so agitated when we encountered a half-hour heavy traffic somewhere in EDSA but when we arrived at Manila House, ang konti pa lang ng tao.
The guests arrived at past 6:30 and dinner was served at almost 8 pm. My pregnant daughter also was very hungry. We were seated at different tables, she, with younger people, me with my colleagues at WomenBiz.
Attendance fee was P1,500 per person inclusive of dinner.
Manila House has an eclectic vibe and for the event, the table arrangements were made to match the venue’s pretty and classy decor.
With Mylene Abiva, Doris Magsaysay-Ho, Rosemarie Rafael,

Hungry at 8 pm.
Seeing food finally landing on my plate was happiness. I was more worried about my daughter who was already starving.

We all enjoyed the main dish chicken inasal, or gutom lang talaga kami.
The piece de resistance, my favorite halo-halo.
It was a good dinner and reconnecting with colleagues after a year. I just wished the program and dinner started on time. I was with a preggy lady and she really had a hard time sitting there for 4 hours.
