While Edmund was in Cebu for the week-long golf tournament, Yen and I had a series of mother-daughter bonding.
On February 26, Tuesday night, she asked if I wanted to eat out. She didn’t have a specific restaurant in mind. I wasn’t really hungry so I suggested that we just go shopping for clothes or go to the tiangge, Shang, SM, kahit saan, basta no eating.
We went to the new Podium Mall. What’s there to do? Window shop and eat.
Certain parts of the mall were empty, with the salespeople standing outside the stores or restos. The crowds were on the ground floor.
Many were commuters passing thru to cross from San Miguel Avenue to the SM Megamall backside.
We first went to the Breitling watch store on the ground floor.
The sales lady said there are only two kinds of people who go to Podium. The expats who work at the nearby Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the BDO employees. Not many people wander from other areas. Not many go there specifically to shop.
When I saw the temporary wallpaper on Kiehl’s soon to be store, it reminded me of the clothes worn by mother and daughter we saw at the church.
They were seated in front of us and it was Edmund who noticed their clothes at first. Sabi nya “Uy, parang sa Bahamas.” They were so cute, wearing matchy-matchy clothes.
We walked till we reached the mall’s another entrance facing Megamall.
There’s a cute-looking cafe just off the entrance and the lovely decor attracted Yen and I. We looked at the menu,
Oyen—- “Mom, is this okay with you?”
Me—— “Yeah, it’s fine.”
Oyen—- “Are you sure?”
Me—— “Dito na lang.”
This is the kind of floral arrangement or grouping that I like. I find this so pretty. The colors are lovely.
We ordered one chorizo pasta solo.
Porchetta — roasted pork belly with potatoes
We both liked the chorizo pasta. It was good.
I don’t remember what this is. Oyen got this.
Our bonding is puro kain. I was 127 lbs. when I arrived from the US almost a month ago, now I am 131 lbs. My golly golly. Takaw kasi.
