I’ve been really busy lately. I am not able to write on my diary. And not only that, as soon as my day is finished, wala na, nalimutan ko na kung saan ako galing at ano ang ginawa ko. Bad.
Yen is extremely busy too. Husband is super busy also, I am very busy.
What that does mean? We live in stress.
We invited some of the lawyers from Sycip Law for a casual dinner at our residence. I reserved my Aug 9 for the dinner preparations but the date coincided with the Philippine Development Forum which I didn’t want to skip.
I set up the table two days in advance so I don’t panic on the day itself.
Instead of using the Herend porcelain plates fit for emperors, I thought the smaller Royal Albert would be better. The makeshift table is very narrow and having big plates will eat up most of the space. Next year nga I will look for a wider table. Or I will re-arrange our furniture hopefully I can find a space big enough for a cozy formal dining area.
I opened a few boxes, cabinets, shopping bags lying on the floor. I found things I didn’t even know I have. Totally gone from my consciousness.
Like this organic soap with ceramic holder from Budapest. Ang cute nya, buti na lang I accidentally found it. I bought this from the night market near the Inter Continental Hotel in Budapest.
Notice the old attache case? Walang pera yan. It contains gold plated spoons that are baduduy so I don’t use them.
I discovered there’s another box of Herend inside this buffet cabinet.
While I was opening the wrapping paper, I secretly hoped that those were dinner plates.
My heart jumped in excitement. Yes, more plates but there were only two dinner plates, the rest were small dessert plates.
Majority of our guests are male so the color blue would be more appropriate. I have blue table cloths and table runners but they are not long enough to cover the whole span.
I saw this Mama Mary box while I was looking for a small doily. It was in one of the floor cabinets in the kitchen. Nagtaka pa ako kung ano ito. Only when I opened it and saw the contents that I remembered that I got this from a religious store in Barcelona.
I took out the contents and displayed it na or else I would totally forget about this.
I mixed 6 Royal Albert blue with 6 plain white antique Balmoral Noritake with gold rims.
I was looking for a flower vase in one of the kitchen cabinets and instead I found 8 pieces of tin plate charger. The tag price indicated a different currency. I mostly likely bought this also in Budapest. Until now, I still couldn’t remember that I even bought this. The gold chargers at the bottom are my old stuff.
The table setting good for 12 px is now complete.
Paper napkins (serbilyeta) are from Budapest too. I can’t keep them no longer as souvenir kasi malapit na syang magmukhang luma due to the humidity.
I also discovered that I have a brand new light blue table cloth with matching napkins good for 8 people. U placed the table cloth over the white lace.
I have one spare chair in case one extra person shows up. I could just sit here anyway I would be going back and forth to the kitchen to direct the waiters and maids.
