January 14, 2016 Thursday
I was expecting 6 but only 4 made it. One was sick.
Atty. Alvin Romero and wife Atty. Mildred Romero, readers since 2011
Took them two hours to get to our house from Paranaque
Beng and Marya Manahan. Beng is one of Meralco’s vice presidents.
This two are primary examples of strength, faith, love and dedication for family. Their son Igi was diagnosed with kidney cancer two years ago. It was stage 2. After the operation, rounds of chemo and radiation, his cancer jumped from 2 to stage 4. Doctors suggested that they subject to Igi to more intensive chemo doses which the couple refused. They brought Igi home and just held on to their faith and hope for a miracle. Igi felt better, has put on more weight, and is now back in school, enjoying quality life and happy times with his parents, friends, and only brother. He doesn’t feel any pain and has no medication whatsoever. It’s been one year. May he be forever cured.
Marya, aside from being busy taking care of her two sons, has a jewelry business called Love Rocks.
Marya was the one who gave my son the lotion for his skin asthma.
Thank you Mildred for this delicious Polly’s chocolate cake.
Thanks Alvin for this chocolate tablets
Before we started eating, our conversation was about how disciplined my husband is when it comes to losing weight. Kaya after that, ayaw na naming mag-dessert.
While were were having dinner, my family arrived one by one.
The 4 also met Oyen, Nyke, and Edmund.
It was both a pleasure and privilege An. We couldn’t help but admire both Beng and Marya in how they face their challenges in life. They are a source of inspiration and admiration.
Thank you Alvin and Mildred. Hope to see you again, soon. Warm regards.
Its an honor to be invited, Ms Annie. Its a pleasure meeting both lawyers, Atty Alvin and Atty Mildred too! We are still in awe, every minute of that dinner will be sweet memories. The warmth, the food, the ‘kwentuhan’ and of course capping the night meeting Mr Yee, Oyen and Nyke!
Like what we always say, the battle is never easy. But we count our blessings.
Each waking hour is a blessing, and every bedtime is thanksgiving!
All the best!
