Dom Perignon - Oh My Buhay

While at the Tivoli restaurant, the waiter brought out a cart of bottles of wine for my kids to choose from. Oyen did some impromptu wine tasting. Fresh from a good wine experience during our dinner, the first thing we did as soon as we got home was to look for the bottle of Dom Perignon that was given to Edmund on his 50th birthday. Baka ininom na ni Cherry.

Dom Perignon is the prestige champagne produced by French wine-maker Moet et Chandon. It’s reputedly the most famous champagne in the world. Moet was established in 1743 and currently produces 26,000,000 champagne bottles a year
A bit of reference, Moet et Chandon also owns the luxury brands Moet Hennesy and Loius Vuitton.

Actually we never found out who gave it. We found this bottle sitting on our sofa after all his guests have left, It had no gift card. Edmund’s guess was it came from the Japanese country president of Mitsubishi Motors but we never confirmed that. He’s been re-assigned back to Japan immediately after.

Dom Perignon Vintage - oh my buhay

Dom Perignon- oh my buhay

We were worried that Cherry either took or drank the few bottles of vintage champagne that we have, mostly gifts from friends. I found them under one of our cabinets, but unfortunately some of them are leaking, saved for the Dom Perignon.

Last week my son felt bad that the two big bottles of Patron tequila were opened. We discovered something worse, the liquid in one of the bottles was not liquor. it had been replaced with a tea looking but no taste liquid with lots of unidentified floating impurities. I yelled at my daughter because she was not contented on mere looking at the nakakadiri na liquid, she dipped her fingers and tasted the liquid. She even did it twice that’s why I was so dead worried she could be poisoned.

Wines must be stored in controlled temperature because too much humidity could spoil it. I would like to have a wine cooler but I don’t have extra space in our kitchen. I saw a house in Punta Fuego with a tiny wine cellar, it was really cool. I’d like to have something like that too, as if naman I drink wine.

We don’t know what to do with these bottles. I will research on how to properly store them for the long term. I need a cabinet with a lock.
