Don’t spend too much on wedding flowers

I thought this is a nice table setting for a wedding but not practical.

Don’t spend too much money on flowers for your wedding day. I’ve heard of some people spending two million pesos on flowers alone. It’s a total waste of money. Maganda nga pero sayang lang.

More than half of your guests would not care or notice what kind of flowers were on the vases. Men wouldn’t bother to touch them. Only the usisera women would scrutinize the table setting.

Go green instead. Pandan, talong, sitaw, kangkong, broccoli, cabbage, red and green bell peppers, etc. The guests would be happy to bring them home. Instead of giving away souvenirs like candies, picture frame with your wedding photo, ceramic mugs, etc, provide them native baskets to put the veggies in. Sayang lang yang ceramics with your names on it, your guests would just throw or give them away. Do you think guests would love to display your wedding photo on their table? They will rip your photo and keep the frame and forget about it. After a few years, pag naglinis sila ng kalat, kasama yang picture frame na yan sa ipamimigay sa maids or sa basurero. That’s the painful truth.

This would be a nice centerpiece.
