It was really hot on this day so it wasn’t a good idea to have a walking
tour. We sat comfortably in the bus while it drove us around the city for about an hour (drive by bus tour). I wished we were given a one page list of the important buildings, places, roads, that we would drive by. Although our tour guide Margarita pointed to us some of the historical buildings, how could we remember all the names? It would have been very useful if she provided us with a route list, something similar to the Trafalgar and Globus tours. They give a list beforehand so the tourists know where they are going on a particular day, the names of the places, buildings, castles, galleries, etc.
The city is not big actually. We went around the same spots a few times
We’ve been here the day before.
They have a bridge that looks very much like the world famous Golden Gate Bridge in the US. It was made by the American Bridge Company that built the San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge in San Francisco, California.
Ponte 25 de Abril suspension bridge named to remember the date of the Portuguese Carnation Revolution that happened on April 24, 1974.
We stopped in front of the famous bakeshop selling the egg tarts. There was a long line of tourists even at 37 degrees heat.
