Earth Kitchen has been opened for at least a year now but we’ve never attempted to eat there because our impression was that they only served vegetarian food.
They are located along Katipunan Avenue between St. Ignatius Village and Whiteplains in Quezon City tucked among the dozens of plant and trees vendors. I’ve seen them fixing their roof, covering the small one story light structure ‘s roof with plastic after typhoon Glenda.
A few weeks ago, Oyen and friends met there. She found out that they have a variety of dishes and NOT vegetarian. So we went.
The place is comfortable, casual and has an outdoor feel. It’s just a little noisy because it’s along a busy and (super traffic) road.
The walls are decorated with art work from children from communities they’ve reached out. I also have some artworks like that from the street kids under the bridge in Aurora Blvd. One time I sent my two alalays to distribute drawing paper, pencils and crayons. Nagpa on the spot drawing contest ako. Lahat sila binigyan ko ng beinte pesos isa, pati yung mga matanda sumali rin. Tapos yung napili ko na winners, I gave a bigger amount. Saan ko na kaya naitabi yung mga drawings nila? Hanapin ko nga pag may time ako. Kailan kaya yun.
We like restaurants that serve fresh juices by the pitcher. Lakas kasi namin uminon. After we’ve ordered dalandan juice, I saw guyabano shake in their menu.
OMB—– “Tart gusto ko ng guyabano, anti-cancer”.
E———-“umorder ka, mauubos naman natin yan”.
Ubos nga. Oyen and Nyke drank the dalandan, Edmund and I finished the guyabano. I want to go back to Earth Kitchen even for the guyabano juice only.
Our appetizers
Any restaurant we go basta merong spring roll in the menu, sigurado we would order.
I think this is fish taco. It has the same ingredients as my salad.
This was my dish, Tempura salad yata ang tawag dito. Edmund also ordered salad pero I forgot what kind. It looked similar to mine.
Oyen’s. This looks like pasta.
Parang hindi pa busog. I ate suman sa ibos as soon as we got home.
