Earthquake after the x-ray

April 22, 2019, Monday

My first day of work. Went to Makati, checked the aircons in the showroom if running smoothly, left some instructions with Kay-Ann to add one or two units, etc. Contacted Chat to find me an orthopedic doctor. I heard her speaking to the secretary of the other doctor, puno na daw pasyente. Chat told her “isingit mo naman, si Mrs. Yee ito”. Okay then, 4 pm.

From Makati, I went to Dr. Leogogo, the ortho doctor. I showed him the digital images taken at the University College London Hospital which my daughter downloaded to my Ipad. He didn’t seem convinced. He said mali daw yun. He told me to have an MRI. I refused. I told him “Doc, huwag ng MRI kasi medyo gumagaling na braso ko. And the images from London were very clear. Plus I also argued “Doc, sobrang mahal ng MRI, ayokong gumastos ng dose mil”. He said hindi naman daw dose mil, ten thousand five hundred only. He said I should get an xray if I didn’t want an MRI. I refused. I told him I would again be exposed to radiation, I just had an xray in London. Bakit kailangan ulitin pa. He said hindi naman daw isang daang beses ako mag-e-xray. Yun daw ang nakaka-cancer.
Sige na nga, magpapa xray na ako. He told me he would wait for the films.
So I went to the imaging center and had my right shoulder scanned again.
Medyo ang sakit kasi I was made to move my arm, bend, turn, but the pain was tolerable.

I was asked to sit outside to wait for the films. Parang in less than 5 minutes, I felt my seat move. I thought the old woman behind me was kicking it. Then the floor started moving and someone said “lumilindol!” I stood up. I looked at the ceiling, the walls, and around me, assessing the situation. I was waiting for the swaying to stop but it didn’t. I started feeling dizzy from the swaying. The old Chinese woman told me “Sit down, sit”. (Para akong tuta, kaw kaw). Instead of stopping, the earth shook again this time it was stronger, then the lights went off then on. That was the time I went outside, I walked calmly to the hospital’s entrance. A young mother with a little boy in tow followed me. She said “lalabas na tayo?” I answered while I was walking “dapat!”
I called up my daughter to find out where she was. I told her to go home na and to dismiss the employees so they could go home na rin. After ten minutes, the doctor’s secretary was calling me, asan na daw ako, ready na daw yung xray film. I claimed the film and brought it to the doctor. He said I should start a twice-weekly rehab for one month.
