Balay Dako by Antonio is becoming my husband’s comfort restaurant.
We went two weeks ago but there was an hour long wait so atras kami.
We went back last week, tyempo, maraming tao pero hindi naman puno.
They have a souvenir store on the left side of the lobby selling different kinds of snacks and gourmet daing.
I love ube, any food basta merong ube.
While waiting for our food, I couldn’t resist opening the plastic container of lengua ube flavor. Ayaw ni Edmund kasi he’s going to lose his appetite.
Eh medyo maingay pa rin kasi maraming bata.
I ordered fried lumpia for appetizer. Kala ko lumpiang togue yun pala ubod. There were two medium sized pieces sliced into half each. I liked the taste.
The fried hito came with one grilled talong and a small serving of buro.
I think one of the reasons why my husband likes it here is because he discovered that the owner of Balay Dako is an Ilonggo too. Plus they have dishes that are old child favorites of Edmund like this KBL (kadyos, baboy, langka). (thanks Cecile).
Ms. Annie, that last dish is called KBL, kadios, baboy, langka. It is an ilonggo specialty. Yummy!
Thank you Cecile for the details. I forgot it’s called. KBL.
