Foreign exchange shops or money changers close at 8 pm in Bangkok. Yen and I walked far to reach Super Rich money exchange. What a name.

We were not able to exchange US dollars to baht because we didn’t have our passports nor valid ID. We left them inside the room vault. Oyen asked if she could present her driver’s license instead. The Thai woman said yehh.
After she glanced at Oyen’s ID, the woman said “eggpie”. Or that’s how I heard it.
Me—-“What?”
Woman—-“Ek payyyy>
Oyen looked at her license. I looked at the woman with open mouth.
Woman—-“Ek payyy”.
Oyen and I stood there waiting and thinking.
Woman—-“No can’t. Ek payyyy”.

This is one of those moments when I begin to count how much brain cells still remain in my crazy head. Expired!
