From our lunch, we went to the couture shop of designer Amir Sali in Valle Verde 2 Pasig. Our appointment was supposed to be at 2:30 pm but Amir arrived at past 4 pm. I was worried because Dimple was leaving for San Francisco that evening. I was supposed to drop her off at my brother’s office at 4 pm, so his driver could bring her back to the hotel to pick up her luggage, meet with Kuya Lito, then to the airport.
Actually, Dimple wanted to go to the mall to look for a long gown for her son’s wedding on September 9. Remember we flew together to Manila? During the flight, I offered to have a gown made for her by Amir Sali. She didn’t know who Amir was. Sabi ko gift ko na lang yung gown sa kanya kesa bibili pa sya.
We got stuck at Amir’s shop for almost two hours not knowing what to do. Whether to just leave or wait. I also had a 4:30 meting at the BTTC Center in Ortigas Ave., Greenhills but I had no choice but to cancel it. There’s no way I would be able to make it. The heavy traffic would make it impossible.

I will ask Amir to make one for me but simpler. A short dress lang with light and comfortable fabric. I don’t know if this cut would suit my super imperfect shape. Hindi tayo pang Miss Universe, pang palengke lang. The flaps would make me look like ibong Adarna’ng buntis.
The red material was thick and very heavy. I would fall to the ground while wearing this.
The waistline of Miss Argentina is smaller than the mannequin’s. Magkasing sukat pala kami. Hers is 22″ while mine’s also 22″ when I was 12 years old.
So as not to waste time, I asked Jana to take Dimple’s measurements while we were waiting for Amir.
While waiting, we tried so hard to entertain ourselves.

At last Amir arrived. He did a fabulous sketch which Dimple loved. He also showed her the fabrics. Although her son’s wedding is still in September, I asked Amir to finish the gown by May 20. I hope the gown would look as pretty as in the drawing so that the mother of the groom would be very pleased. Siguro hindi na yan kumakain para sa September 9 kasing payat nya yung bride.
