Executive Chef Anthony Hsia

While we were enjoying our Thanksgiving Brunch Buffet at the grand ballroom of the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, Executive Chef Anthony Hsia came by to say hello to the guests. We were expecting someone older and fatter to come out of the kitchen but he looked young, slim and trim. I wonder how chefs are able to resist eating the delicious food that they cook.

He told in one of his interviews that his culinary career began when he went to dinner at a friend’s restaurant in Germany. One of the chefs walked out of the kitchen and he offered his help. He left his plate of food and immediately helped out in the kitchen. He felt right at home although he had never worked in a professional kitchen before. He found his home and his passion. The rest is history.
