Thursday was a single mom’s day so to speak.
Oyen went to her former office at Fordham Graduate School for a get-together with her former boss Julie and office-mates.
I walked 12 short blocks to Time Warner. When left alone, that’s just the place I wanted to go.
Our apartment is on the second floor. The hallways are too narrow- roughly one yard wide. There’s an Extra Large Male that was coming in when I was going out so I had to stop, moved my body sideways and closer to the wall.
This is our building. Parang akin ha, “our” building.
Across the street is a tall building called Nomura and World Wide Plaza.
There are two Starbucks, one in the front, the other one facing our apartment.
This small park is one that I wish I have in Manila. A quiet and safe place to just sit, read books, gaze at people, without anyone bothering me. No pokpoks, no beggards, no vendors. No drivers calling out from their trucks “miss, miss, gusto kitang pakasalan”.
An outdoor place in between high rise buildings for people to breathe. Not in shopping malls, condos that practically occupy sidewalks. A place with trees, lots of trees.
My daughter is amazed that I would rather walk 12 blocks than to take the subway.
It’s only when I travel to cities like this that I’m able to do some walking. It’s better to be out in the street than down in the subway.
Looking at how other people live, look, what they do, keeps me entertained. Alam mo naman ako, Uzi. (usisera)
I miss Stitch and Jazzy. I don’t miss our other dogs. They’re annoying.
With little money, you’ll not go hungry in NYC. Street vendors sell gourmet meals, and not wrapped in plastic.
I took a picture of Mariella Pizza because Oyen told me she used to buy pizza from this place.
An original LV and a nice tattoo make nice fashion statement.
The Crabtree & Evelyn in Columbus Circle has been there eversince I could remember.
I have reached my favorite hang-out place in Manhattan, the Time Warner building.
This is the wife of the other guy na naka hubo. Wala rin syang panty.
Since I was by myself, I waited for someone to take my picture. I saw this Asian girl who was frowning. I thought, oops, I picked the wrong person, she’s in a bad mood. When I handed over my Iphone, her face didn’t show any emotion.
But when I covered the prekprek of the statue, she burst into laughter. Kaya pati ako natawa.
Hello Ms. Annie! 🙂
