Exploring the desert resort city of Palm Springs

Today is my husband’s only free day because tomorrow the 3-day golf tournament starts. We are driving around to see what’s in this resort city. It’s both our first time in Palm Springs and we’d like to see if this place will capture our interests and decide to come back here in the future.

This city is a favorite golf destination of past US presidents.

Traffic scene on a busy street with cars and traffic lights under a cloudy sky.

After driving around for an hour, we see Morton’s Steak House. We are in the mood today for a steak lunch, let’s check out this restaurant, Morton’s.
Entrance to a residential community named Morriston's under a partly cloudy sky.
Oh it is closed today.
Entrance of a salon with glass doors and reflection of the street outside.
We are not yet hungry so let’s continue exploring the city that appears to be living up to its claim of having 300 days of sunshine.

There are dozens of golf communities, many are gated and with huge mid-century modern houses.

Sunny street lined with palm and deciduous trees under a clear blue sky.

There are approximately 120 golf courses here as of last count.  Oh my, 120? Really?  This is Edmund’s paradise. I am pretty sure the PGA golfers come here too and maybe some have houses here.

We have not said it categorically but I think subconsciously we are resigned to the fact that we are stuck together. Hahaha.
