Farm animals must be free to roam - Oh My Buhay

Farm animals must be free to roam

My husband complains that our small group of farm animals is destroying the plants and because of that it’s difficult to keep the area clean and tidy. The cows’ and horse manure are huge, the ducks’ poo is black and sticky, etc.
He wants to confine them in one area or place them in cages. Nooo, kawawa naman sila. They need to be free from captivity. I enjoy seeing them roaming around free. This is their domain too and I want them to freely explore the small field as they wish.

Di ba it’s so cool to watch these two ducks chilling out?

My horse Shallow chipped the coconut tree trunk.

These ducks bully the chickens. When I am sowing food, they could easily maneuver to push the chickens away.

Co-existence

The pine trees have grown so big and we might have to cut down a few.  Sobra ng masukal and one of the them destroyed Edmund’s small pond.   Ying ugat nya itinulak yung semento.

Payatot Andrew.  I suspect he is underfed.

Our one and only mango tree is bearing fruits.  This tree is a hundred years old according to the townfolks.

ECY invited three young landscape architects to design a masterplan to help us turn the gardens into something more cohesive.

Others will find dried leaves as makalat. Me? They remind me of my childhood. Alas singko pa lang ng madaling araw, naririnig ko na yung katulong nila Ka Chayong Arcilla nagwawalis ng bakuran nila. Gamit ang walis tingting, I could hear the sound of dried leaves, tapos sisigaan nya. Yung amoy usok, papasok sa bintana namin.

As to why I only built a short road and had it cemented up to this spot  bit my husband.  Bakit daw hindi ko pa itinuloy  hanggang bahay.  Why?  Kasi ayaw ko.  To construct a road reaching the cottage house’s front door was not what I wanted.  Ayoko ngang may kalye sa loob eh di nagmukhang  subdivision.  Para rin tayong nasa Maynila pag merong kalye sa harap.  I don’t want cars to be near the house.  Una,  pollution.  Second, noise.  Third,  danger especially pag meron na akong mga apo.

I didn’t use a meter to measure the length of this road. I just marked the ending and then I told the contractor “simula sa gate hanggang dito 70 meters yan. I also gave him the estimated number of sacks of cement needed. When he measured it, aba eksakto 70 meters nga. Tsamba lang.

I feel happy seeing the rooster and the hens roam around freely.  Minsan lang masyadong eskandaloso itong mga rooster when they try to mate with the hens.  Super aggressive.  Di ba sexual harassment yan?

One of the landscape architects took photos of our bibe siguro he will post them on his Facebook account, Hayan, sisikat na itong mga bibe namin sa social media.
