Ferry from Estonia to Helsinki

May 6, 2019

Edmund and I spent 4 nights in Tallinn while our tourmates spent 3 nights. Today we took the comfortable and luxurious Megastar ferry to Helsinki.
E—-“Kay Sharon Cuneta”. (korniks).
The ride took two and a half hours but I didn’t feel bored. In fact, I wanted to stay longer. My husband said that means I am now ready to join a long cruise, maybe 7 days.

I truly enjoyed my first big ship ride. The ship looked very new and smelled clean.
We were in an area where there was buffet food and bottomless drinks. If boat cruises are this nice, then I don’t mind joining a one week cruise, sleeping in a private cabin.

See, the waiting lounge is way better than most airport lounges.

Damput-dampot lang because I wasn’t hungry.

Ang sarap ng libreng Pepsi.

Kain uli parang hindi mga nagbuffet breakfast. Nakaka-engganyo kasing kumain kahit hindi ka pa gutom.

Eh past lunch time na daw. sige kain uli tayo.

We went looking for the deck. We passed through the economy section. It’s also nice. I wouldn’t mind seating here if the ride is only short, like for two hours. I think they don’t have free food, you have to pay. I am not sure.

There were many Chinese tourists on board. It’s obvious that they are regulars here because there are Chinese speaking crews, Chinese characters in some signages, Chinese announcement. The Chinese people are affluent and they are probably number one in traveling and shopping.

A Chinese sales lady saw Edmund and I and started speed talking in Chinese. Ewan kung anong ibinebenta sa amin. Akala ko naman naintindihan nitong kasama ko, when the lady paused to catch her breath, Edmund said “Don’t talk to me in Chinese..” Wahhh bad trip. Relative natin yan. Our dear forefathers were born in China. We are a disgrace to their country because we don’t speak their language.

I saw several women, then this group testing the more expensive cream Lamer. After they had left, I opened the tester and put a lot on my face. Ang dami, nangingintab yung mukha ko. Libre, pang tester lang. I do not believe what the sales ladies tell me that all I need is a tiny pearl drop to spread on my face. How can that work? Spread daw sa palad para uminit, at saka ipapahid sa mukha. Eh sa palad ko pa lang di naubos na yun, sa palad ko lang napunta. They just want us to justify paying $500 that we think would last for half a year. My daughter gave me a small sachet of Lamer supposedly good for a week. I spread it lavishly on my whole face and finished it in two applications. It felt good though. I told my husband that I need to find a very good anti-wrinkle cream.
A—-“Tart problema etong mukha ko, kulubot na sobra. Ano kayang hitsura ko pag 65 years old na ako? Huwag mo na akong kukunan ng picture. Pagnaka-talikod na lang ako.”
A—“Bumili tayo ng anti-aging cream.”
E—-” No amount of cream will solve your problem.”
