We were not instantly wowed by Lisbon on our first day.
The city looked interesting and seemed rich in heritage and culture. And I liked the fact that one doesn’t need a car to get around. Judging by the number of tourists we’ve seen on our first day, Lisbon could be a tourist haven. There are lots to see, eat, shop. But for some reason, the old, abandoned buildings emitted a feeling of sadness.
We’ll see, it’s just our first day and we could be wowed the next day when our official FPG Insurance tour starts.
We retired in our rooms while the sun was still up. It was a very long day and night traveling to reach Portugal. We flew over many countries and crossed the Atlantic Ocean to reach this far. Seeing how other countries thrive and people live is a blessing but the time, money, effort one must spend could be exhausting.
The hotel left a basket of fresh fruits in our room. This remained untouched till the day we checked out.
By 8:30 pm I was passed out. Oyen and Edmund told me the next day that I woke up in the middle of the night and asked “Asan tayo?”
When they answered Portugal, ang sabi ko daw “Ha? Portugal?” Tagaytay?”
Then I fell back to sleep.
Good night Lisboa!
