We were visited last Tuesday by some 33 dealers from India. They were in the country for an observation tour. They were brought by Ford Philippines to 3 local dealers and we were one of them.
One of the visitors told me that there are over 200 dealers of Ford in India. Seven in New Delhi alone. With that many dealers, they don’t make a profit from vehicle sales. The volume is spread out thinly among the dealers. India is a vast country and thickly populated, but just like in the Philippines, many can’t afford to buy a car.
It was a free willing discussion moderated by Paddy, Ford’s trainer from Melbourne, Australia.
They asked Julienne a couple of questions regarding the new generation’s social media.
Their appointed team leader presented us with a marble plate encrusted with hundreds of crystals as a token of appreciation.
We were given their names a few days earlier and their food preferences were indicated (vegetarian or non-veg) which was helpful in deciding what food to serve.
I picked Dulcinea to cater for 50 px. Our guests hardly touched the food. They were still full from lunch and they were in a hurry to leave for the next meeting.
We ordered additional vegetable samosas from Kashmir Indian Restaurant. P960 for two dozens.
Their dealership and house are located on a mountain overlooking the Himalayas.
They invited us to go visit. I would love to, maybe in 2015.
As a souvenir of their visit, we also had personalized towels made for each one of them.
Yen said “mom, if they don’t show up, we would end up with these towels with ? names”.
I tied each of the hand towels with a gold wire.
Our staffs feasted on the food which were practically untouched by the guests.
Guests have left, hosts could not eat and relax.
