Top regional executives of Ford Motor Company visited Ford EDSA on March 21, 2019. It was a special day because of four things:
1. We saw Ford Philippines’ former country president Randy Krieger. Our family had been looking forward to seeing him again ever since he was promoted and reassigned to another country.
2. We welcomed their visit as a sign of continued confidence, unwavering support and commitment of Ford Motor Company to their dealer principals in the Philippines.
2. Randy honored us by awarding our long-time employees with plaques of appreciation for their continued and loyal service. These are the people who’ve been with us for over 20 years. Our finance manager, Camil, told me that she was scheduled to be interviewed by Mr. Yee but I gave birth to Nyke on that day so Edmund was in the hospital. It was my Kuya Lito who interviewed her instead. My son turned 29 in January, this means that Camil has been with us for 29 years. She said “Boss, matanda lang si Nyke ng sampung araw.” Loreta naman started with us 28 years ago and 11 months.
3. And last but not least, the day coincided with Oyen’s 25th birthday plus vat + sales tax and service charge.
I didn’t want to join in the photo because they were all tall.

I planned on wearing high heels for this event but the sole gave way just before I got off the car. Old and cheap. Buti na lang I brought a pair of flat slippers as back-up.
She received several birthday cakes prior to her birthday. Ford also gave her a cake the day before and she got soooo mad at her security because he was dazed. He totally forgot that the box he was holding contained a cake that could not withstand turning the box upside down and around and to sat on it. I actually wanted to transfer him as in house security in Makati but Edmund said the mere fact that the guy was a war veteran (came from the war in Mindanao), at natamaan na ng bala duon, ibig sabihin matapang itong sundalo na ito. Kaya lang hindi pwedeng pahawakin ng cake.
I didn’t tell anyone that I hired a soprano to sing two of The Greatest Showman’s most popular songs, This is Me and Never Enough. Those were difficult songs and not all singers could sing those. When Jonna Andrade Reyes came in, lo and behold, it was my daughter who was standing near the entrance. My daughter thought it was a singing telegram.
Jonna is a theater actress recommended to me by Jong, another artist who sang at Ford EDSA’s grand launching.
