My Friday nights are mostly spent at home by myself. When Dennis and wife Sylvia invited us to have dinner with them at Terry’s on November 23, 2018 at least my routine changed a bit.
My daughter could not join us because she attended a friend’s late-night wedding reception at Antonio’s in Tagaytay.
Rare occasion that I was wearing something sleeveless. This handwoven hinabal from Iloilo was among the clothes I bought from the Great Women store in Makati. This was designed by Jeannie Javelosa.
Dennis and Sylvia are based in California and have been flying back and forth into the country because Dennis has built a beautiful vacation home and eventually their retirement place somewhere in Coron.
We dined at Terry’s in Pasong Tamo. Little did we know that Dennis likes to come here to buy wine and some gourmet ingredients.
I ordered Callos a la Andaluza.
Dennis ordered this. I am not sure if this is Fabada Asturiana.
I think among the four of us I was the one who ate the most black seafood paella. My sexy husband is on diet and has been binging on fresh salad only. He has so far lost 5 pounds and wants to lose three pounds more. On the contrary, I have put on 5 more pounds.
It’s amazing how Dennis has totally immersed himself back into his pagiging Pilipino and has become a probinsyano. He drives around town and is not intimidated by heavy traffic, he has bought a scooter, paddles a boat, goes to the market, plants fruit-bearing trees. He has two carabaos, several chickens, tuko, and I don’t know what else.
We had so much fun talking about a variety of topics including politics and a topic we both love is chickens and carabao. I just love this couple. They are one of the nicest people on this planet. I consider myself blessed to have met them.
Good food, great company, what a nice way to spend my friday night.
