Fully booked flight to London

This was my third time to fly to London in one month.
This time I was with my husband.
Traveling with a personal porter is the best.

Summer travel has started. According to the PAL ground crew, flights to most major cities are over-booked. This is the time of the year when they are offering passengers to give up their seats in exchange for a free round-trip ticket of the same class.

Traveling to London needs extra security inspection before you are allowed to check-in. Be prepared to open your luggages and or boxes and bring packaging tapes and strings or tali to pack them again. The security officers will help you close your luggage or boxes, after they’ve swabbed them for random drug `testing. It would be a different story if they found drugs or drug residues in your possession.

Naiinis ang asawa ko kasi naabalahan at apurado. Sabi ko ang kulit nya. I told him we don’t make the rules, we just have to follow. And this is for our own safety too.

We stayed for a while in the lounge. As usual I couldn’t resist eating the lugaw with itlog na maalat (salted egg).\ I noticed the vegetable dumpling was labelled by the chef as BEIJING vegetable dumpling. Why call it Beijing and not Hongkong or Singapore? Maybe that’s a Beijing recipe or they just added the name to make it sound fancy. Nung araw fancy ang tawag sa fake jewelries, or those made of non-precious metals. Pagmerong pinuri “ganda ng hikaw mo ah”– “fancy lang yan.”

I chose to be on this side instead of a window seat so that my right arm would not be susceptible to getting hit by service carts and people walking on the aisle.

I was messaging my son before the plane took off. One of the things that I worry about all the time is the situation of my son. Hindi pa maayos ang buhay nya. He still needs us. My husband tells me malaki na ang anak ko, matanda na. He can survive. I am sure he can survive without me. He will find his own place in this world.

Edmund and I were not seated together. The flight was turbulent in the first few hours. No matter how frequent I travel, I will never get used to a bumpy ride. Ninenerbyos talaga ako. Lahat ng santo natatawag ko sa nerbyos.
