We arrived at the Fundacion Pacita on March 7 friday at 7:30 am. Our room wasn’t ready. The guests haven’t checked out yet.
This is their charming reception area.
The quaint little hut is surrounded with shrubs, flowers, ivy.
The whole place is so charming and there are lots of picture perfect corners.
According to the receptionist, Lando, Secretary Butch Abad was the one who planted most of the trees, topiary, and flowers in Fundacion.
Pretty is how you describe this place.
Mawara is check-ins or arrivals,
Oyen, checking-in. she booked a room with two queen size bed for the four of us.
The Fundacion practice social responsibility by helping some Ivatans go to school.
We were offered to have continental breakfast at the main building while waiting for our room. This is actually included in the package.
Flights to Batanes come early morning, that’s why hotels are used to serving early morning meals.
Arches are everywhere in the estate.
Edmund, speaking to one of the hotel’s staff.
According to Lando, the blue painted chairs were Sec. Butch Abad’s choice.
That shade of blue daw is the traditional color in Ivatan houses.
It reminds me of the Mediterranean.
Siguro kasi blue is the color of the water.
I’ve seen around 6 birth baths.
Flat and rubber soles shoes or slippers are more advisable to wear here. They’re safer because you walk on uneven surfaces. Big and small stones, sharp gravel, and drift woods are used around the Fundacion Pacita. Walang smooth floor except when inside the room, reception, and main building. Never wear high heels.
Artistic Christmas tree greets visitors at the entrance of the main building.
This’ the foyer. The sofa faces the toilet.
The dining hall also serves as the gallery or museum as a tribute to the deceased owner of the building, Pacita Abad.
The biography of Pacita Abad in huge frames, fill the walls of the dining hall. Art works, hand-painted ceramic plates, books, and other works of art decorate the hall.
We were given sliced monay, tomato jam, butter, and one scrambled egg each. We couldn’t finish the monay.
Their tomato marmalade or jam could be mistaken as a strawberry jam. It’s so delicious.
Our room wasn’t ready even after we’re done with breakfast so we explored the small pocket gardens.
We discovered two life-sized brass statues of the Abad’s parents. I really liked the idea. I told Edmund I would have the same thing.
We looked for the room assigned to us, room 2 daw.
We saw this pretty doorway. Bahay pala ni Secretary Butch Abad ito. Muntik na kaming pumasok.
We found our room. It’s below the house of Congresswoman Dina Abad. It’s actually their lanai that had been converted into two rooms.
There are lots of topiary, ang sabi nung staff, gusto daw yan ni Sec. Abad. kaya lang sobrang ang sikip na. They scratched my legs a few times while I passed to and from our bedroom. Halos wala ng daanan.
They are so blessed to have this kind of view from their windows.
There are two horses and a cow in their backyard.
Fundacion Pacita is simply pretty. It’s worth coming here.
Oh wow! I have admired Pacita Abad since I found her art 20 years ago. Idol ko siya, her life and her works. I will also go there someday! Enjoy kayo. Happy bonding time! Hi to the kids.
So nice place to relax and unwind..hv fun
