I didn’t know that FVR would be in his office the day I was scheduled for interview. Retired Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and his wife were also paying a courtesy call to the former president. The minute FVR spotted me, he told me to get my business card quick and to give it to chief justic Davide. How very nice of him to think of helping me promote our company.
It was such an honor and a privilege to share some laughs with these two statesmen.
FVR generously gave me a bagful of his legacy books, plus a sculpture of his famous kaya natin ‘to motivational tagline. He jokingly told me that this art was made in CHINA.
FVR was in such a good mood that afternoon. His staff prepared delicious lasagna, siomai, etc for our merienda. FVR was making lambing to his three female assistants how come pagnadito si Annie ang sarap ng handa nyo. Bakit daw pag sya lang ang nadun eh walang handa. He also told them that he and Edmund has one thing in common. “Pareho kaming Andres de Saya.”
FVR was still very sharp. Many people say that he was the best president we’ve had so far. I couldn’t agree more.
