Every year Ford Philippines hosts a big party for their number one customers— we dealers and our employees. Referred to as Ford Convention, it’s usually held at the beginning of the year. there’s simple dinner food and beverages.
This is where they honor outstanding employees with plaques and token gifts or cash awards, and dealers with plaques of appreciation.
Depending on the orientation, mood, generosity and open-mindedness of the respective country head at that particular year, the event could be elaborate and grand with lots of professional dancers doing acrobatic moves, celebrities hosting the affair, music by popular bands, etc.
February 10, 2017 Friday
I was aware that we’re attending the Ford Convention in the evening. My daughter reminded me to be home by 3. I went out to meet a broker. We scoured for potential parking garage / warehouse locations from 11 am – 3 pm. I was somewhat tired when I got home. I went to bed at 3:30 pm with the intention to get some sleep.
When Edmund arrived, I was laying on the bed but awake. He said we should better get ready because it would start at 6 pm. Since the venue is in Filinvest, we should better be going before 5 pm.
That was the only time I opened my cabinet to look for something to wear. I decided to wear this dark green lace dress I recently bought from the US. I also have a new dark green bag I bought in January. The fact that I have a green dress and a green bag was not intentional. It’s purely coincidental.
The dress was green because that was the only color available at the store. Same with the bag. There was no other color. It was a new arrival and the store had only one piece, and it was that strange color of green.
I was all-set when Oyen arrived. She looked like an artista. Ganda make-up nya. It was done by a professional make-up artist named Cherry Pacheco.
A—-“Tart, dapat pala nagpa-make-up rin ako. I look so plain. Dapat meron akong eye lashes”.
E—-“Hindeee”.
A—-“Lahat dun mga ayus-na-ayos. Dapat pala nagpa make up rin ako”.
E—-“Hindi mo na kailangan yun, natural beauty…”.
A—-“Ay thank you husband”.
My daughter told me that the dress code is DRESS and Sneakers. Uso daw sneakers ngayon.
Hmm, tila hindi ko feel mag-sneakers, hayaan mo na ang mga bata pero ako, flat shoes na lang.
How does it look from behind? Eh pangit. Change.
This one na lang, step-in. It’s not according to the dress code but it looks okay with my dress.
