Edmund’s mom celebrated her 80th birthday yesterday with her children and grand children, neighbors, friends, relatives, paying tribute to her.

A neighbor, Atty. Amading, said that many aspire to be 80 but only a few get their wishes.
Needless to say, 80 is a big gift of life. This is every person’s wish, to have a long life. Not only that, Edmund’s mom is healthy and able to do the things she enjoys doing. She’s content with what she has achieved in her life. All her 7 children are successful in their own rights.

Our favorite priest, Father Peter Coching. His Homilies are interesting to listen to and are not boring. We even feel bitin when it ends. Pero pag iba ang pare, inip na inip kami.

Father Peter. We wish to join a pilgrimage to the Holy Land with Father Peter as the leader.

There was an opening dance number from a group called G-Force. I spoke to one of the members, Ben Dayrit, 25, and he told me that they are regulars in ASAP. Ben was born in Pampanga but he grew up in California. His family are in San Leandro, near Costco, near my siblings’ residences. He moved back to the Philippines to pursue his love for dancing. He’s hoping to eventually do some acting on television. I introduced him to Edwin’s daughter Aizel.

We sat at the very last row kaya ang layo ng mga kuha ko.

Yen’s make-up made her look like Marilyn Monroe according to her dad. Siguro kasi gawa sa red lipstick.

Haji Alejandro entertained all of us and more importantly, the birthday celebrant.
He reminisced his superstar status some 35 years ago. Since most of the guests were in their 50’s, hit pa rin sya.

There was a short video with her children, apos, and other people dancing. Towards the end, they flashed 3 photos of the sikat nowadays- Richard or Sir Chief, the celebrant’s favorite actor. Her children wanted to invite him to sing at her party but I think there was some problem with the Talent Fee. Tila P200,000+ yata.  Ang mahal.  To save money, they just included at least three of his photos in the video presentation but I noticed that they totally forgot to include even one photo of their father.

Edmund’s mom has a good voice, a talent inherited by her children, including Edmund.
For the finale, she sang my favorite song All I Ask of You from the Phantom of the Opera. She did justice to it more than I did, when I sang it at my birthday party 20 years ago. My guests covered their ears and told me to just hide my hidden talent.

The opposite of last night- the guests screamed, whistled and clapped their hands.
