We told Edmund about the new restaurant near the office so he became curious.
He agreed to have lunch there.
We walked about a hundred meters without a hut or umbrella. A short walk if the sun is asleep, not when the heat is scorching. Pwedeng magluto ng maruya sa bangketa, ang inittt!
We got there at 2 pm. People had their lunches already. Ang sarap kasi ang tahimik. We were the only customers.
We’re back at the Pantry. The owners are architects and their office is on the mezzanine of their eatery.
The cook is a manang, kaya lutong bahay.
I wanted veggies and this one looked nice in the picture.
A———— “Tart, anong gising-gising?”
E———— “Popular yan sa golfers. Hindi ka kasi manginginum kaya hindi mo alam”.
Sigarilyas na ginisa na may sili at gata. Iyan ang gising-gising. Edmund said there are other variations. Yung iba daw ay sitaw o kangkong. Siguro dahil sa sili kaya ang tawag gising-gising. Magi-gising ka sa anghang.
I couldn’t resist the lure of icy fresh mango shake. Ang init talaga ngayon.
Steamed rice and tortang talong for Edmund. Garlic rice for me.
Oyen’s beef tapa, sunny side up egg and garlic rice.
Our food didn’t end there. We consumed 3 orders of Dynamite cheese, yung sili na binalot sa lumpia wrapper, may cheese.
Edmund paid P802.
E———- “Ang takaw nyo ha”.
