My friend Madeline didn’t show up at Theo’s baptismal lunch on Saturday, October 22, 2022. Although she confirmed her attendance, she was nowhere to be found on that day. I did send her a reminder a week before but I was already too busy prior and on the day itself to call her.
The next day, on Sunday, October 23, she was calling at past noon. She was in Gloria Maris daw, supposedly to attend Theo’s party. Naku po tapos na. She got the date and the day wrong.
I invited her instead for dinner on October 26, Wednesday, just the two of us, in the same restaurant.
It’s not unusual for this kind of date mix=up to happen. It happened to me in October and several times in the past.
There was a birthday celebration happening at the other table. We sang along with the waiters. We felt part of their celebration.
