I’m glad former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo can now go back to living normal and free. She can now hug her family anytime she wants to.
From the beginning, I wasn’t sure if there was some sense to what happened to her.
My last interaction with GMA was when I was invited by the Department of Trade and Industry to join her delegation to Washington DC. Believe me, I was the only business person who said yes. Wala kahit isang sumama kasi patapos na ang termino nya, nawala lahat ng tao nakapaligid sa kanya. Biglang sabay-sabay silang naging busy.
Ako, wala naman akong personal or business agenda, dropped everything I was doing, spent my own money, and flew all the way to Washington DC to lend my one and only warm body. Ayan, yan ang true love of country.
From the airport, diretso sa meetings. Taga palakpak lang naman ako.
At a dinner reception somewhere in New Jersey, she held my hand and invited me to join her to San Francisco. I wasn’t sure if she realized that I was the one and only business delegate there. She called someone to coordinate with me so I could join her. It must have been the Executive Secretary or some one else, nalimutan ko na.
When she was put under hospital arrest, I wanted to visit her pero wala naman akong maaya. Galing na daw sila. Yung iba naman baka daw makainitan kami. Eh dadalaw lang naman. Wala naman akong agenda. Hindi naman ako politico. Parang naawa ako kasi naman from being someone surrounded by powerful men and women, biglang naging alone. She was not even allowed to use a cellphone. Eh sa mga kulungan nga di ba naka Iphone daw yung mga bilanggo at nag pe facebook pa.

I am happy our former President was released. She worked so hard as a president and the previous president claimed for all the credit. When she was president, Cebu prospered and when she left, hanggang ngayon dalawang major national roads for widening projects tengga. I feel president Duterte is a very wise man, he almost has a sixth sense of wisdom and knows that pres. Gloria did good and did not deserve to be treated like that. Sabi nila panapanahon lang naman, it’s Gloria’s time again.
