Our long-time Finance and Admin Manager, Gwen Andal, is leaving us for a greener pasture, the conglomerate San Miguel Corporation. Much as we would like to stop her, we did not want her to miss out on her chance to belong to Ramon S. Ang’s group. I felt a little betrayed although that’s not really the right word, but when I found out that she skipped work 3 times to go to the interviews, I just did not feel good. But like what I always say, they should go where they would find happiness and contentment.
My daughter, the accounting group and everyone else prepared a despedida for Gwen complete with a collage and AVP.
Julienne had the foresight of eating some pork barbecue before the program started. When the eating time came, the bbq disappeared first and fast.
They requested me to send Gwen somewhere else an hour prior to the despedida so they could prepare. I went to the bank with Gwen and asked her to introduce me to the manager. I haven’t done that and it was really weird. We just showed up there and made kwento-kwento with a total stranger. I kept glancing at my watch to make sure we were on cue. I was running out of things to say to the manager so I started asking about who owned the bank, kung sino kamag-anak nito, why there were many people there, muntik ko nang matanong kung happy sya sa love life nya at mahalungkat pati sex-life nya.
Our 15 year old sound system, a raffle price won by Edmund in a golf tournament.
This Sharp stereo has been so reliable. It has become a part of practically all of our office gatherings.
Not even once eh nasira ito. O, nabati kita baka naman bigla kang masira.
I was so bondat from the pansit. They forced me to eat spaghetti too.
Most of the food were gifts except for some, including this spaghetti, especially ordered by Julienne because she said Gwen’s favorite is spaghetti.
Goodbye Gwen, thank you for all your malasakit. Thank you also for being genuinely nice to my children.
We love you and we miss you already.
