My sister highly recommended that we stay at the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa because it’s closer to the entrance of Disneyland Park and the Grand Californian Adventure. I couldn’t make up my mind because I really wanted to stay at the Disneyland Park. As a compromise, I split our hotel booking into two. Two nights in Disneyland Hotel Dec 23-25 and two nights at the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa Dec 25-27, 2017.
We were lazy to leave our hotel room, pack again and check out and check in on Christmas day! We all liked Disneyland Hotel and the additional walk didn’t bother us and we didn’t notice it. Edmund also found the parking more convenient. The Frontier Tower where our room was located has a door that directly faces the parking.
I hated to leave Disneyland Hotel, they offered complimentary bottomless ice cold fruit punch. It was very good.
Filipino bell staff at Grand Californian. He was both surprised and excited to know that we’re Filipinos from the Philippines.
Grand Californian Hotel is more expensive than Disneyland Hotel. I think I paid $200 extra per night. I don’t know why.
It does have a grand lobby with a very tall Christmas tree.
I didn’t find the room luxurious. The room is a tad bigger and it has a small balcony good for drying clothes. It has double sink lavatory. Other than those, there’s nothing special about their room or decor. Too expensive for the amount I paid. Most especially that the Christmas and New Year holidays commanded the highest room rate anywhere.
