This morning, on our way to Angono, I dropped by Ford Cainta for a few minutes. Edmund just stayed in the car while I went inside their showroom.
No guard was standing at the entrance when I walked in. There were two showroom sales agents on duty and they greeted me “Good morning mam”.
Then after three minutes, I saw two guys came out of the customer’s lounge behind the showroom. One was wearing black t-shirt and shorts, while the other one was wearing a black t-shirt and pants, black tsinelas and a gun tucked to his waist.
I inspected the sofas and found the newspaper scattered on one of the seats. While the two seats were gulo-gulo, I even fixed the back rest cushion. And I could tell that they just got off the leather sofa, I could still see the marks of their butt.
I asked one of the sales agent who were those people. He could not even give me an answer, his alibi was it’s his first time to do showroom duty on a Sunday. Napaka-ewan naman nito. Oblivious of his surroundings? What if those were thieves?
I went out of the showroom and followed the two guys. The one wearing shorts disappeared. while the one with the gun squatted on the front patio.
Omb———- “Guwardya ka ba dito? Sino ang duty ngayon?”
He’s the one on duty daw. I asked who was the other guy, he’s also a guard, on duty.
Omb———- “Bakit hindi kayo naka uniform? Tingnan mo ang hitsura mo, ang dumi dumi mo pa. Nasan ang uniform mo?”
Guard——– “Nakasampay”.
Omb———- “At bakit nasa loob kayo? Diba dapat nadito ka sa pwesto mo? Natutulog kayo dun sa loob, para sa bisita yun”.
Guard——– “Hindi mam, nakaupo lang kami”.
Omb——— “Dapat dito ka sa entrance umupo, hindi dun sa loob”.
Guard——- “Tinawag lang ako mam, para kumain”.
Omb——— “alas onse pa lang, kakain ka na, at wala namang kainan dun. Bakit kayo dun kakain, at wala ka namang dalang pagkain”.
K U N S U M I S Y O N !
I went back to the car and told Edmund. He knew already because he and our driver noticed me talking to the guard. He called the two of them. The one wearing shorts came out of the other gate now wearing long pants. He was shaking and his voice was cracking when Edmund asked him why he was not at his post and not wearing uniform. He reasoned out that their uniforms are washed every Sunday. Edmund noted down their names.
A few weeks ago, Edmund’s vehicle broke down. He left it at our parking in Makati Ford. He found the aircon in the showroom STILL running at 10 pm, the guards kasi were naiinitan. No wonder our electric bills are too high.
Last week we discovered that at night, our guards let the customers of the bar and restaurant across the street park at our parking area for P50 fee. They are making a killing because hundreds come and go during weekends.
