Our guests for 2014 Chinese New year celebration are all friends.
They were all masunurin. They came a few minutes after 6:40 pm as I have requested. And wearing red or white.
I just bought our food from a restaurant. Mukhang hindi masarap.
I didn’t have time to cook kasi.
Pancit canton, mukhang anemic.
Assorted Cold Cuts
Beef with Broccoli
This I bought from the market. I just asked Nonie to fry it just before the guess arrive para mainit pa.
First to arrive was Dinna Bautista- Delos Reyes. Dinna is a contractor/ interior designer. She’s one of ohmybuhay’s avid reader and one midnight last year, she messaged me offering her free guidance on how to fix our kitchen. Nakakahiya naman, I didn’t take advantage of her generosity. She said our kitchen came out well.
Edmund toured her in our dirty kitchen, sharing how we just put things together. Pakis-pakis ang tawag dyan ng mama at papa ko.
Some of our guests brought cakes– Joyce Laxamana and Aileen Dojilla, Pyao, Dinna.
I am grateful to them kasi wala kaming dessert, I was too tired na to prepare or buy.
From left
(standing), Oyen, Chiyo Raymundo, Det de Leon, Loel de Leon, Bea de Leon, Chino Raymundo,
(front) Oh oh, I will jamble their names, apologies if I commit a mistake.
Annika, Alex and Andrea Raymundo, Rachel and Reeza Villa.
Ha? sobra ng isa. Help!
My original plan of using two round tables as buffet didn’t work. They were too small and flimsy to hold the heavy and big food containers. So balik sa dati, sa kitchen counter na lang.
Chiyo Raymundo and Det de Leon
These ladies remember every ohmybuhay post. Even the photos.
Dinna Delos Reyes, Aileen Dojillo, and Joyce Laxamana, all first timers here.
Shoti and Achi
My son talking about his unfortunate encounter with a mentally deranged client.
Our dirty kitchen became the center of attraction buti na lang it’s clean.
It’s past 11 pm and all our guests have left. We could now relax.
We’re all hiding our bulging stomachs.
These were the Chinese Food Henyo crowns I was making at 1 am.
Bagay sa inyo anak x 2, para kayong si Prinsipe at Prinsesa Butchiwa.
Three Tikoy boxes are left.
We all liked the red flowers arrangement.
Hah, I haven’t eaten pala. Matikman nga itong layered crepes brought by Loel de Leon.
I put some fresh mango marmalade on top. Sarap pala.
Penge pa nga. Thank you so much Loel.
Det and Elmer de Leon won the Mister and Ms. Chinatown 2014 by acclamation and lack of competition. They were the only official couple in the crowd.
These were their scepters. They’re now officially half-Chinese.
(Awarding photo to follow)
Nyke and Oyen were smiling at the camera, behind the masks!
Happy Chinese New Year to the family and may continued blessings be upon the family. God bless us all!
