November 6, 2015 Budapest
While we I was eating at the fast food of West End Mall, this guy asked if he could sit at the adjacent table. Sure.
After several minutes, he said
“Excuse me, are you Filipino?”
He said he could hear us speaking in English and Filipino.
According to John, there are only 72 Filipinos living in the whole of Hungary. He jokes that his mom is the 73rd and he is the 73rd and a half.
John showed us some photos. Here he is, with his Filipina mother, Felesa Neo Gito, who’s originally from Sorsogon then moved to Cavite. She met her future husband in New York, where John was born.
John is the only child of Felesa and her Hungarian husband. He had been to the Philippines when he was five years old. He was born in NY but moved to Hungary when he was six. His parents live in the countryside while he studies in Budapest.
He seems genuinely excited to meet Filipinos and wants to marry a Filipina if possible. All the best to you John.
Hi OMB, Is there a way to contact John? John’s mom, like my mom was a Gito also on the mother side and Chinese on the father side. I would like to know if John’s mom came from Bulan, Sorsogon where my mom was born. I was trying to locate the family tree of my mom.
Hi Dee, wow what a small world. His name is Janos Juhasz, Pls go to his facebook. I will look for his email address.
Hi Dee, what a small world! I’m real pleased to read your inquiry. My mom was born in Magallanes, Sorsogon. She later moved with her family to Pasay and then to Cavite. She says her family has some relatives in Bulan but don’t know exactly how they are related. She will ask about them from some of her sisters who might elaborate on their family tree.
You may find my facebook profile by this link: facebook.com/janos.juhasz.5621
Looking forward to hear from you, Johnny

Hi Joy, thanks for your message. I forgot the boy’s name and have lost his telephone number. Sayang, he wanted to meet Filipino friends.
I was on Google searching for Hungarian / Filipinos & this page uploaded in the search. I too am Hungarian & Filipina.
I love that there are others with this ethnic mixture !!!
Szia! I am a Filipino/Hungarian born in Los Angeles. My father left Eger, Hungary in 1956 at the age of 17 and met my mom, a former resident of Baguio City, Philippines in 1965 in a club formerly called the Continental Room. =) Would love to connect with my fellow brothers and sisters!
