I was late for my appointment with SGV and Rp Manhit. It was good our meeting was just at our conference room.
Rp came prepared by bringing several pieces of tuna, salmon and chicken turn-overs.
We met with SGV tax expert Nilo and auditor Irene, to guide us on Philippines, Inc.’s government accounting and tax compliance. Our organization is non-stock, non profit. We live on members’ annual dues of P10,000 each which makes our average annual income around P500,000 only. Unlike other foundations and business organizations who aggressively embark on regular fund raising projects, Philippines Inc. doesn’t solicit sponsorships to raise additional funds, at least in the past few years. We merely relied on the annual dues.
Aside from Rp, Nilo, and Irene, I let Edwin, Philippines, Inc.’s messenger/clerk to sit in.
I gave Nilo and Irene a short backgrounder. Dati, when Cesar Purisima was still SGV’s Chairman, he assigned Louie Benitez to take care of this. But when Cesar became busier as Secretary of Finance, and Louie retired from SGV, we had no one to do the books.
When Edwin heard the name of Louie, he interjected and said “Binatiz”.
I looked at him and said “Benitez”
He opened his mouth again and said “Bi ne tiz”.
I instructed driver Deo to buy Chicken Inasal for my 3 guests. Hindi na ako kasi I was still full from heavy and late breakfast. Rp also didn’t want to eat rice so the 3rd chicken would be for Edwin Binetiz.
Omb————- “Deo, bumili ka pati ng tatlong halo-halo. Walang ice cream. Ayaw namin ng ice cream”.
Special pinoy halohalo!!! Sarap nyan from Inasal
