Handmade Crafts in Prague Castle Complex


From Prague Castle, we have 20 minutes before we are picked up by the bus. We are just following the exit signs and this leads us to a small cobbled stone street lined with a few cute souvenir shops.
I get excited whenever I see tiny quaint shops. I love patronizing local craftsmen. Some have been in business for generations started by their great-great-grandparents. I am one for tradition and I also love buying tiny handicrafts. Not bulky and not expensive.

The small shops are inside the 9th-century Prague Castle complex. It is not clear what year these small structures were built to adorn the cobbled street.

The castle is the official office of the president of the Czech Republic but according to the tourist guide, he doesn’t really come here often unless he is receiving some foreign dignitaries or having some special gatherings. I think these small shops are additions to camouflage the ancient wall. Behind these medieval-like structures is a sweeping view of the city below.
