Edmund, Oyen, and I dined at Haru Sushi Bar & Restaurant in Barrio Kapitolyo, Pasig.
The place was jampacked and we waited for about 15-20 minutes before we got a table. Edmund said hi to Atoy Co and his wife who were at the table near the entrance.
The wait was all worth it. The ambiance, food and service were all good. The price was not cheap but reasonable.
Their shrimps tempura passed my above average standard. It’s definitely comparable in taste with that of Kimpura and the price point is a lot more reasonable.
A son and mother standard order- Agedashi Tofu
Edmund ordered this grilled mackerel but I think I ate most of it. It’s so fresh and delicious.
One of the main reasons why I go to Kimpura is because of their Teppanyaki Oysters. Lately, they always said “ubos na” but I suspect, talagang wala silang supply. I don’t blame them, supply must be ultra fresh.
Lo and behold, Haru has teppanyaki oysters in their menu, and they were available that night. Again, comparing the prices between Haru and Kimpura, this dish is a little cheaper here.
Daughter ordered Halo-halo for her dessert. Haru is adjacent to Café Juanita which has the same owner. One could order Filipino dessert from Café Juanita.
My dessert, nilagang saging na saba, also from Café Juanita.
It was raining heavily when we were leaving Haru.
Tonight, August 11, 2013, we heard mass at 6:30 pm before going to Haru. It was raining again.
It’s just the three of us. My son’s watching the Gilas basketball game with his friends.
This priest always started his Sermon with stories of people dying of cancer or from some horrible accident.
That’s probably his way of getting the parishioners’ attention.
People waiting for their vehicles, after the mass.
After just a little over a month, we’re back in Haru.
Edgar Mortiz was dining too. The improvised bell hanging at every table blocked my shot.
She had the same thing when we dined here a month ago.
I thought the first time was better.
The Japanese Chef and his boss (seated, wearing olive colored shirt), the owner of Café Juanita and Haru.
I had the same thing, Nilagang Saging. The waiters forgot to bring the milk. We had to follow-up 3x.
