During a Senate committee hearing, DPWH District Engineer Brice Hernandez stated that they delivered more than twenty suitcases, each allegedly containing ₱50 million in cash, to the basement of the Shangri-La Hotel in Bonifacio Global City (BGC).
The total amount delivered was said to be at least ₱1 billion. From the basement, the cash was allegedly taken directly to the penthouse of Congressman Zaldy Co.
Let me repeat that: One billion Philippine pesos or US$ 17,500,000 based in today’s foreign exchange rate.
Eto ang istorya nating mga ordinaryong Pilipino:
Many students are forced to take shelter under trees or in makeshift huts due to the severe lack of proper classrooms nationwide.
Whenever it rains—especially now during typhoon season— they get wet, feel cold, and their learning is disrupted. Marami nakalusong pa sa baha.
Now, if the cost of building one classroom for example is ₱1 million, we could construct no less than 1,000 classrooms with ₱1 billion.
That would be a huge help. Each classroom would be 50 square meters, complete with blackboards, electric fans, durable porcelain flooring, interior and exterior paint, ceiling, roofing, and even its own toilet facility located just outside the classroom.
This is very much achievable if there is no corruption, no skimming, and no overpricing by contractors and their accomplices within the government.
Grabe itong mga politicians— senators, congressmen, governors, mayors, and their bff contractors, etc. Lusot na lusot sila dahil hindi naman kayang imbestigahan lahat. And they are so rich and powerful. Wala sa kanila na makukulong.
Dahil sa kanila lahat tayo nakaka pagsalita ng mga masama.
Kulang ang murahin sila. Mauubusan tayo ng mura. Please help me fill in the blanks:
