Health Worries - Oh My Buhay

The surgeon suggested that I undergo MRI to determine where the pain on my left breast is coming from.

I woke up at 6 am last Saturday and proceeded to Cardinal Santos Medical Center.
Since I was there already, I decided to have blood test to determine my fasting blood sugar level. It’s always on the high side / borderline.

I arrived at the MRI department at 7:45 am for my 8:15 am schedule. They made me fill out a 3 page general questionnaire. The third page was about bone injuries. The doctor there asked me some questions again focusing on any bone injury. I told him the questionnaire and his questions were not related to my complaint which is pain on the left breast. I was supposed to have MRI of the cervical spine which is the neck and shoulders, not the breast. He suggested that I either go back to my doctor or go to another specialist for a second opinion to determine if MRI is really necessary. Baka daw masayang lang.

With the MRI schedule cancelled, I went instead to the women’s care and radiology departments. I had another round of breast ultrasound and kidney ultrasound.

The breast results are negative, but the right kidney shows that I have a small cyst. I need to go to a kidney specialist tomorrow for him to interpret this impression. Based on what I’ve read on the internet, it’s a cause of some worry.

I dug my old files to compare the record. The liver results last year showed I also have a cyst in my liver. Cysts are not all bad but I’d rather not have even a tiny one.

Oh my God, I don’t know how I would sleep well tonight with dark clouds over my head. Liver and kidney! Oh dear Lord, I do not want to get sick, please.
