We spent the whole afternoon today at the Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig. My in-laws were there complete with a long food buffet.
The afternoon was spent with good conversations about health, bank loans, businesses, travels, etc. while eating.
I felt irritated every time a plane flew over us kasi the jet noise was loud and obtrusive.
My daughter had asked me several times before about Edmund and I’s interment plans. This sounds morbid but life comes to an end at some point and we have to prepare for it. Edmund wants to be cremated. Me? I am leaning towards na ilibing ako ng buo. I don’t know if I will change my mind. Parang less hassle nga yata yung cremation.
Lately, by mere coincidence, there were two memeorial park sales agents who sent me by email sales materials on funeral plans. Nanay ko po sobra palang mahal mamatay. An 18 sqm estate lot in Heritage is 20 million pesos. There are also wake packages that cost 2 million pesos kasama na ang pagkain ng mga naglalamay. Ngayon 24 hours buffet, eh nung araw mainit na kape at pandesal lang.
Kailangan pala ngayon pa lang pumili na ako ng menu. Cochinillo with truffle rice, steamed Dungeness crab, lobster bisque, beef bourguignon, cheese plate, tiramisu, vanilla ice cream, and bottomless buko juice and gulaman at sago. Lamay ba yan or wedding? Sa sarap ng pagkain, baka naman buong bayan pumunta na burol ko kahit ko naman sila kakilala.
Grabe iba na ang buhay ngayon. Pwede ba kumain na kayo bago kayo pumunta sa lamay para hindi ma stress yung namatay?
